The relevant messages

the corners are springing

with thistles which arouse

purple trumpets like musical

penises. in the apartment block

a retired man glowers

with anger at gardeners

stopping to smoke. another man

leaves his bike locked up against

the steel stairwell banister:

this is a fire hazard.

another man notices the covid-19

warning posters have been taken

down in 2023. I log calls

as they come and I pass on

the relevant messages. one day

a hawk lands the binshed. it's a marvelous

creature, and indicates a possible

rat problem. its wings hang from the shoulder

like a sleekly cut military coat.

DS Maolalai has been described by one editor as "a cosmopolitan poet" and another as "prolific, bordering on incontinent".
